Illustrating Live for the United Nations at the Nansen Awards in Geneva

Nansen Award Image SmallI was honoured to be invited to Geneva by the UN to create a live illustration during the Nansen Refugee Award 2015. The Winner of the 2015 Award was Aqeela Asifi – an Afghan refugee female teacher who gave access to over 1000 refugee girls in a Pakistani refugee camp in which she lived. The whole event moved me to tears throughout, so extraordinary were the testimonies, performances and of course the actions of Aqeela herself.
